woops!

I reeeeeally need to get back on the ball with my photography- seriously! Is it too late to throw out a Valentines Day special?? (I think not!)

Stay tuned for a special announcement, and a HUGE explanation as to why I've been absent for the past few weeks.....

And because I can't post to my site, and not attach an image-

Here is my sweet baby girl, and she is getting so big! She's actually wearing the dress that my grandma made me for my first Christmas. It's so neat that I can share that with her! *sigh* :)

The Hoyt's

parker

Parker, along with his Mommy and Daddy, met me at Bona Dea Trail during what photographers refer to as "the golden hour", for their Fall Session. I love, love, love the lighting in these images. He sure is a cutie pie! These were my favorites:

This is his mean face.... I love it! haha

I realize that he's crying... but it's such a cute image! It makes you want to stick out your bottom lip, and say "Aww..."

This wagon was his Daddy's when he was little.. I love incorporating sentimental props into a session. I think it makes the images even more special!

Lydia, or Liddy, as I affectionately like to call her is a sweet, baby girl that just turned 6 months! I've been wanting to take her pictures since the day she was born, so when her momma asked me to take her 6 month pics- I was so excited! There are about a bazillion that I love, but these were my favorites:

Meet Alex-

Isn't she gorgeous?!

shame on me

Ok.... apparently I'm a very bad blogger / website updater. It's been waaay too long since my last post. So an attempt to get caught up to date with the sessions that I've had in the past couple of months, I'm going to post my favs from the session minus the nice little blurb I usually give about the people in the pictures. Once I get caught up, maybe I can go back and give you the story behind the faces....

For now, here are a few pictures of my two favorite people. We were at the Marina last weekend, getting ready to shoot the Morgan Family..... Anyway, here were a couple of my favs. I can't believe my baby is 9 months old.... *sigh* :)

mother's day

This past Sunday was my first official Mother's Day. My husband Jason and I spent the day just hanging out and watching movies. I even took the day off from editing pictures, which has somehow seemed to overwhelm my free time as of late!

Since I have become a mommy my life has changed in a drastic way... never did I imagine that I could love something so much. Or... that I could be so tired Or... that I could help create something so beautiful. Jetta Grace, is now 6.5 months old, and she's the love of my life (right next to her Daddy, of course!)

I love being a mommy, and I love watching her grow and learn new things. She has gotten so big, so fast.. and I know that before I know it, we'll be chasing her down the hallway, wondering where the time went.

But for now, she's my sweet baby girl... and I'm so grateful to be her mommy!

I want to give a special thank you to her Daddy, for making my first Mother's Day special... and thanks to my Mom, for being an amazing Mom, and Grammy. Also, thanks to Jason's Mom for being an amazing Mother-in-law, and Nanna. I love you guys!

the covert brothers

Skot called me a couple of months ago and asked if I would take some pictures of him and his brother Dylan. His mom is graduating from Nursing School in Fort Smith right around the same time as Mother's Day. They decided that pictures would be the perfect gift for her!

We followed a little trail overlooking the Arkansas River at Old Post Park. Skot had already picked the place out when he asked me to do the pictures, but we had to wait until the trees were nice and green. Green they were, and this overlook is a place I'll definitely have to keep in mind for future sessions! Skot and Dylan were good sports. (in my experience, most guys aren't fans of getting their picture taken...) And I'm impressed that they endured for their momma! I hope that she enjoys her pictures. These were my favorites-

mason

I would like to introduce to you my first furry friend session... his name is Mason- he is an French Mastiff, and he's just 8 weeks old. He belongs to my friends, Kristin, and Brandon. Kristin asked me to take some pictures, because she wanted to be able to remember how little he once was. I'm pretty sure Mason will one day be a massive puppy dog... But for now, he's a cute little pup, with the most beautiful eyes I think I've ever seen on a dog. These were my favorites-

This one makes me literally laugh out loud....

Thanks, Kristin and Brandon for the opportunity to capture your family, and your new baby. I'm sure that he will bring you many years of happiness!

bri

When I first met Bri, my husband Jason introduced her as "his little sister".... So naturally we seemed to ease into a friendship pretty quickly. Bri is an amazing violinist and cellist. ( she actually played the prelude at our wedding. ) She's sweet as can be, and she actually has an agent with a real model agency!

When Bri asked me to do a session, so that she could update her portfolio, I was both honored and flattered. We did a session in the evening, and I love, love, love the lighting that we got from that time of day. Of course I took a bazillion pictures, but these were my favorites-

I LOVE the lens flare in this shot....

Lauren did Bri's hair and makeup. Aren't they gorgeous?!

katie and jared's wedding

Well... it finally happened. One of my little sisters got married! Jared and his twin brother Jordan were really good friends with our littlest sister, Leslie, and so she invited them to her youth group's camp out..... They met, and they've been pretty much inseparable ever since! Katie and Jared got married at the same place that my husband and I did- at our family's home church in St. Clair, Missouri. It was such an incredible day, everything went so smoothly! I lost count after we passed the 1000 marker of shots, so as you can imagine I had a hard time wading through all of the great pictures... but these were my favorites:

They had a big bridal party- all 14, plus the 2 photographers crammed into a Hummer Stretch Limo and we ended up outside of the Butterfly House to take our pictures.....

.... then we went to the St. Clair Firehouse to get a few pictures. Jared is a Jr. Fire Chief, and loves all things fire related, so it was only fitting that we incorporated that stop into their pictures too!

Since I was in the Matron of Honor, my husband, Jason, had to step in and take the pictures when I had to be in the shots. He did such a GREAT job, and I really appreciate all of his hard work! On my bigger wedding packages, Jason comes with me to be my Second Shooter to add new dimension and a different view point. In my opinion we make a great team! ;-)

Jetta loves her Aunt Katie! I love, love, love this picture of the two of them- even if Jetta already changed out of her dress.... :)

I'm so proud of Katie- she was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen! And I'm so happy that she's getting everything that she's ever wanted! Jared is an incredible guy, and a wonderful addition to our growing family. I love you both! Congratulations!!

jetta grace

I got a new camera earlier this week, and so i decided to test it out on my favorite subject- my baby Jetta Grace! She will be 5 months old in one week. I'm only going to post a few, and I know that I'm biased, but she's just so stinkin' cute!

Her feet are probably the thing I photograph the most often- I LOVE them!

This is her new favorite thing... our big tv. She's so mesmerized by it.....

Guess who..... :)

josie

Josie is an adorable little girl that just turned one! I had her and her momma Shandy come over one Sunday afternoon to get some pictures, and I think we got some pretty good ones. Even through the outfit changes, Josie was a trouper. And, she was soooo cute when she giggled! These were my favorites from that day:

Shandy's been super supportive of me setting up this business, and very encouraging throughout the process, thus far.... I'm really grateful for for the support that she's given me, and I'm grateful for her friendship. Josie has two big brothers and I'm really looking forward to getting all 3 of them together later this spring for another shoot!!

rachel

I needed to take some senior shots for my portfolio, and I asked my friend Rachel if she would model for me. She and I have gotten to be pretty close in the last few months, and I can tell you that she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Having said that, you could probably guess that it wasn't hard to get some good shots of her. These were my favorites:

3 is a magic number...

A few weeks ago I followed my favorite set of triplets around at the Lake Dardanelle State Park. I had these kiddo's in my classroom at the daycare before I took my current job, and of course they were secretly my favorites out of all of the kids.... I asked their mom, Jessica, if I could get some practice in by taking their pics. I figured if I could handle taking pics of 3 two-year-olds... then I could probably handle more kiddo sessions. :) Even though it was almost impossible to get them all looking at the camera at the same time, and sitting still.... I think that I still got quite a few really good shots. These were some of my favorites-

I had such a good time, and their mom was so gracious for letting me take their pictures! I can't wait for this spring when we can get together again! :)

katie and jared's e-session

On Thanksgiving ay, I had the great pleasure of taking pictures of my sister and her fiance' Jared. what made this shoot even more special was that we took the pictures in Jefferson City, Missouri - where Katie and I spent most of our childhood.

We ended up going to the state capitol, and the governor's garden, close to the downtown area. when Katie and I were little our dad worked for the capitol police department, so going to the capitol building was always fun for us, because we got private tours, and of course it was fun to see where our dad worked. Just across the street from the capitol building is the governor's garden. It's a beautiful spot with stone steps, a pond in the center, and in the warmer months there are beautiful seasonal flowers everywhere you look. It is a hot spot for pictures during prom season and wedding seasons alike. It's extra special to us however, because that's where our parents were married!

Katie and Jared will be getting married March 21st, 2009 in St. Clair, Missouri. You can count on me having tons of great shots from their wedding afterward!

I took so many pictures, but these were my favorites!
